open source social network development

We have decided to try and use the power of sharing and caring communities to make the tailcast project more open to developers with technical skills. We have started a google group and joined google's code project.

The idea is that over time we will get willing hackers and coders involved in every aspect of site development so we can evolve much more quickly. In addition that means we get the benefit of being able to build on existing open source features created by other people.

Here's hoping the project catches the imagination of the tech geeks :)

First up we have uploaded our text editor. Once we have developed a new audio player with cover art, playlists and video we will add that to the group too. Then we can start looking at ebooks and viewing ebooks on the go (iphone etc.)....
